Situated on the edge of the North York Moors and only a stones throw away from Dalby, the Great Yorkshire Forest, the small village of Lockton is home to this talented collective of artists who have come together to form a thriving creative community.
Our Story
With less than 175 permanent residents in the small village of Lockton and approximately 250 in the Parish, the unusually high percentage of creative and artistic people living and working here first came together in February 2016 to form a group known as Lockton Artists.
Lockton has now become the home to a thriving creative community. There is already a history of artists in the village and many of the artists today continue to draw inspiration from the beautiful moorlands and surrounding dramatic scenery.
Currently among the nine members of the group you will discover painters, a fine art photographer, textile designer, ceramic artist, jesmonite designer and metalsmith.
Visitors to Lockton can view a selection of artists work in Lockton Tea Rooms & Gallery (check their website for opening days and times).
